R & A Time for Nine
According to a recently published article the R&A stated that the popularity of 9-hole golf
is soaring throughout the country. It allows more flexibility for people with busy lives who
struggle to fit in time for 18 holes of golf. As the population becomes more time
conscious with work and family commitments, golf clubs around the country are having
to respond to this and offer 9-hole competitions and memberships which is adding a
whole new dimension to the traditional game of golf which can be costly and take up
majority of a day. Nine hole courses and competitions take up much less time, are generally
more relaxed and more family friendly orientated making them an ideal option. Headlam Hall
is a perfect example of a course that is ‘ahead of the game’ in this respect as the growing
demand for membership increases.
